Fall Running

So my schedule this past week was still off but it was a good week.

Monday: Long Run 5.0 miles with my friend Kensie.

Our Splits....
Mile 1: 9:23
Mile 2: 9:25
Mile 3: 9:34
Mile 4: 9:36
Mile 5: 9:26

and damn does it get dark quickly now... action shot while running.

Tuesday: 3.0 Mile Run

Mile 1: 9:02
Mile 2: 8:55
Mile 3: 9:57 (Major Hills)

This run was okay. I decided to take a new route. I live in a very hilly part of my own and I did know know this new route would be as hard as it was. PLUS I had one of worst running stich's of my life... Still got a mile under 9:00 minutes though so I was proud. I would have not thought that was possible if I didn't run under 9 minute miles for most of my run last week, so ya!

Wednesday: Hot Power Yoga... which must I say is no joke. That class is the hardest class I have ever taken.

Thursday: 3.12 mile run

Mile 1: 8:58
Mile 2: 8:47
Mile 3: 9:08 (Its always mile 3 that gets me! have to note that for the race)
Mile 4 (0.12 miles): 1:06

Thursday I stuck to a semi normal route. I been trying to change them up so I don't get bored, especially with some of the routes I have had lately.

But even my boring routes are getting prettier with the fall here...

Saturday: Body Sculpt Class

She kicks our ass!!

Then the rest of Saturday I spent up in NH hanging out with my family because my grandfather was visiting... it was a good time!

Its really starting to feel like fall around here, except this week is suppose to be in the 80s!! What is up with that... everyone is excited and I am not. I like it cooler when I am running and cold when I am sleeping. I am so looking forward for October weather to be here.  BUT I should watch what I say, we have had snow the past two Octobers!

BUT seriously October is the best month... HOCKEY IS BACK THURSDAY!

Running With a View

Okay finally getting caught up to this week!

Last week I was on a off site meeting in Beverly, MA from Tuesday- Friday so my schedule was a little off because of getting ready for it and just life... but anyway...

Apparently I got the awesome room!

Monday: OFF no Yoga.  (packed for the trip, ect)

Tuesday: OFF (had to get up early for the first day of meetings/no time in the evening for a run)

Wednesday: I got up early before all the meetings started and went for a run! 3.80 mile in 36.03 minutes with a average pace of 9.29.

Mile 1: 9:21
Mile 2: 9:54
Mile 3: 9:22
Mile 4: 9:17

This has to be one the most beautiful runs I have been on..view of the ocean? NOW that is running with a view.

Thursday: Same route for a run except I went with one of my co-workers. He was faster then I was so I was trying my hardest to keep up.  I finished 4 miles in 35.50 minutes with an 8.55 pace.

Mile 1: 9:23
Mile 2: 8:59
Mile 3: 8:34
Mile 4: 8:53

This nearly killed me, but it was awesome to know I could run at that pace! :) Running with someone who is faster then you is a great way to get you moving past your comfort zone.

Not only did I got for some runs in the morning... a few co workers of mine and I took some walks during breaks... here are our views of our walks. It was a 1.50 mile loop.

From another walk that was about a mile long...

Friday: OFF but took an 2.50 mile walk when I got home.

Saturday: OFF: no excuses expect being lazy

Sunday: Off because I went to the Patriots Game!!

Jon and I's favorite place in Waltham, Jocos was having a raffle for some Patriots tickets they had, and I won!! Jon couldn't and didn't really want to go and my friend Theresa is a giant Patriots fan so I bought her!

My winnings...

At the Game!

Not bad seats huh?

Again. I love Sundays.

Green Death

So I was going to recap all last week today, but I am going to focus on last, last Sunday. September 15th because it was such a good day...and I took a lot of pictures! :)

In the morning I went for a run with Kensie (who I am running the 10K with). We got 4.5 miles in!

Mile 1: 9:26
Mile 2: 9:30
Mile 3: 9:43
Mile 4: 10:00
Mile 5: (for .54 miles): 9:53 pace

Here are a few pictures form our run... I love running around the Charles River. This is in Watertown. So pretty! There were the boat races going on... and we were going to stop and watch one come in after our run but it was taking to long. Maybe this coming up Sunday!

After our run Jon was playing softball right around the corner, so I went over to watch his games... It was the championship finals game for the "summer league".  He is on team "Green Death"

I enjoyed a breakfast sandwich and Ice coffee from Dunkin after my run while watching them! They boys were not to happy with me that I didn't bring them anything. There first game started at 9:30 and like none of them ate breakfast so they were all starving by the time I got there... oops!

For one inning the brothers got to play the center of the field together...

Doing my job...

After a hard fight they lost... the brothers needed to talk it over...

Joe (Jon's brother) brought champagne to celebrate their win... so they decided they couldn't let that go to waist even though they didn't win the ship. So they still toasted to their second place finish.. This time they cheered "Green Death". I guess at the last game the captain of the team was trying to pump up his team and had them meet for a team pep talk. After the talk he said "death on three" ha-ha they were all like umm...?

And then played some polish horse shoes... best game ever.

I love Sundays! I spent from 9:30 am to about 3:00 pm outside... Cant complain!

Down Under

Its been pretty busy the last two weeks... so I haven't updated. I am going to break up the last two weeks recap into two post soooooooo last week in a nutshell!

Monday September 9th: "Yoga for Runners" at Down Under Yoga in Newton. It was awesome! I am not a huge fan of the yoga at my gym the class is called "Gentle Yoga" its a little to boring for me... BUT this class was great. I found it on the site Meet Up in a Newton Runners group.  I would take it more but I already pay for my gym/classes and I hate paying for something twice. Maybe a 10 class pass would be a good Christmas present (wink, wink mom or boyfriend) :) For now I think I am going to try Hot Power Yoga on Wednesday at my gym and see how that goes!

Tuesday September 10th: 3.25 Mile Run. I finished my run in 31.28 minutes. The average pace was 9.41 minute/mile.

Mile 1: 9:21 minute/mile
Mile 2: 9:40 minute/mile
Mile 3: 9:58 minute/mile

I was wearing my new fitness gear I won from Fit Foodie Finds from Under Armor. The pants are amazing!! And the shoes, while kind of wild, are so light, I seriously think its made a difference in my running time! Thank you Lee and Under Armor!

Wednesday September 11th : Swim for 39 minutes and 40 seconds. I have workout OCD like... and this made me mad ha-ha. BUT I let the person swimming next to me take my lane because a class was starting. It is what it is!

Thursday September 12th: Weight lifting class in the AM... DAMN IT IS GETTING DARK IN THE MORNING!

......and 2.50 mile run in the afternoon I finished in 24 minutes and 30 seconds. With an average pace of 9.48.

Mile 1: 9:06
Mile 2: 10:09
Mile 3 (0.50) miles I finished in 5:15

I didn't let the server thunderstorm warnings get in the way but damn it was muggy and scary looking out!

Friday September 13th: Off... Good Friday to take off! Friday the 13th in the 13th year. BUT I didn't have any bad luck ;)

Saturday September 14th:  I did a 3.5 mile run around the Charles River with a crazy workout by Carrots N Cake. This one was a toughie! I turned off my run keeper and watch during the push ups, ect.

Mile 1:  9:49 minute/mile then 33 push ups
Mile 2: 10:12 minute/mile then 33 air squats
Mile 3: 10:15 minute/mile then 33 burpees
Mile 4 (0.50) miles: 10:00 minute/mile pace

Ill catch up on last week tomorrow.

Sunday Funday's

This weekend was really nice. Jon had a "guys day" Saturday. I HATE sleeping without him at the place so I offered to drive him there and pick him up so he could have fun and not worry about driving... which in the end none of them drank basically at all because they were to busy trying to fit all their sports in.  ha-ha o well.

Anyway Saturday I took my body sculpt class.. and the instructor was so good. Walking isn't the easiest thing to do today but its all in good fun. Muscles hurt that I didn't even know I worked out! After that I came back and drove Jon to his brothers then went to one of my favorite places in the world.. legacy place!

I wasn't really in the mood to buy anything which was good... but I scored these two things at loft for a total of $36 bucks. The skirt was $32 and yes the dress for $4 bucks!  Its nothing special but who can not use a nice white dress...

My goal was to find a patriots jersey which I could not find... and go to Whole Foods. The Whole Foods at legacy place is pretty epic. I went to get some body wash and an ice coffee with Almond Milk. SO GOOD!

Sunday was such a beautiful morning. I was up early for a run!

I just love being able to run around the Charles River. This time I ran around the Waltham Commons as well. There is just always so many people around Waltham running, biking  and always something going on in the Waltham Commons. I love that town, its going to be really hard to get me out of there...

Anyway my run was really good! Sunday's are my "long run days" and I got 4.60 miles in... I was only suppose to do 4 miles but I had some more of the trail left so I thought mind as well finish it.

Pace was as following
Mile 1: 9:51
Mile 2: 9:58
Mile 3: 9:56
Mile 4: 10:01
Mile 5 (0.60 miles) I got done in about 5:30 seconds.

The rest of my Sunday was followed by grocery shopping. watching the Patriots (which was a pretty terrible game)  taking a nap and watching Bar Rescue and Breaking Amish. I love Sundays.

New Toy

So I got a new toy and I am in love.

My Garmin Forerunner 10. I got the cheaper of the watches but this does pretty much all that I would want! Its a super good motivator.

Tuesday was my first run with it on, and I loved it. Its super easy to use and I got a good run out of it. Ill ad my actual pace later. My watch is at home!

From what I remember it was
Mile 1: 10:03
Mile 2: 10:01
Mile 3: 9:37
Mile 4: (.10 miles): totally forget!

Wednesday I did some cross training and went for a swim. If I have one complaint about my gym it is the hours the pool is open. They have a class from 7:00-8:00 and then apparently the pool closes for 30 minutes for a cleaning. I did not know this and got in a few minutes before 8:00 when the class was ending and there was one lane open.... 6 minutes into my workout I was told I need to get out... BOO! BUT I waited around and did my 35 minutes of my cross training. Night swimming is amazing...

I was in the left hand lane and what is nice about it is that half of the pool is covered with ceiling window things so when you night swim you can watch your strokes (with back stroke) and try to correct things you may be doing wrong. Also I finally bought a pair of goggles! Wow that makes a difference, I am no longer swimming all over the place! It was a nice swim even though I had to wait around about 20 minutes to finish!

Thursday night my knee felt better and it was a GORGEOUS night for a run! See that green arrow with a circle around it.. well that is A+++ for me. I have bad asthma/allergies so when humidity is low i feel so so so much better! Plus I am not hot weather person. I love the summer for the activities and I love the beach, but I am not happen when its 90 degrees out. My body just does not handle it well!

Anyway so yes! So amazing run! One of the best I have had. Although it was a bummer because I turned off the automatic lap on my watch my mistake... So the watch did not record pace, but I had map my run on so that was good.

My pace broke down to this from run keeper

Mile 1: 9:29
Mile 2: 9:36
Mile 3: 9:29
Mile 4: (.10) miles: 11:27 (I was running straight up a hill)

Its a few seconds off because I had to stop for cars and stop to turn on and off the app but even with that, one of my best runs to date... I am so excited for this fall weather!

So much so this morning I had a hot pumpkin spice latte and wore a scarf. Love you Fall.

Happy weekend!
