Pig Roast's & Workouts

This weekend was a lot of fun! I actually worked out and stayed with my fitness plan and I had a lot of fun while I was at it...

Saturday morning I took that class that lady said to take! It was fun..

the instructor definitely helped you out with form techniques and she did fun things. At the beginning of the class she was like remember to take a paper plate... and I was like uhhh?? BUT it was really cool we used our legs to move the paper plates... one exercise was like ice skating. VERY COOL.. anyway I was still really wombley during the class so I still have some stuff to work on but it was fun!

Then Saturday Jon's brother and his wife Sarah hosted Pig Roast... it was a really good time!

I did not take part in eating any of the pig... but from those who did I heard it was very good!

Enzo... he is so adorable!

Of course after swearing they would never play pool basketball again... they did! Last time they destroyed there figures and Joe ended up in Urgent care 24 hours later because he had an infection... boys will be boys.

We spent the night there and I had a cuddle buddy with me all night! He is adorable...

Later on on Sunday we  I ran for 3.50 miles. Jon was set to join me then after mile one he backed out because his knee hurt.... but he just sat at one of the seats looking over the Charles while I ran around him.... Seriously this may be my favorite place to run.... Here are a few pictures from my 3.50 mile run.

While I had an amazing view for my run my run stunk!! I felt like I was going so fast, but I had to stop a few times. In my head fall is coming and I forget its actually still hot out. Those black legging pants where a bad idea! I was dying by the end of my run...

These were my paces but I think they are a little on the low side (like I was going faster) because map my run has me cutting corners ect & I think I ran further after I mapped it out on Google Maps...

Mile 1: 12:18
Mile 2: 11:38
Mile 3: 11:59
Mile 4: 12:08

Completed 3.51 miles (maybe 3.85) in 42:03 minutes.

After we went and got some beers and watched the last of the Red Sox Game... Beer, Popcorn and Red Sox? Can't go wrong....

Being at Zero

So with the fitness plan I am for a 10K Thursday mornings are strength days plus a 2 mile run. I have been taking this class at my gym the past two weeks and its been good. Yesterday morning someone in the class (who looks extremely fit) was asked if I ever took the Saturday morning class because the instructor is better with helping people with the form and that I needed some work. She said it in a nice constructive way and I didn't walk away offended or anything... but still felt a shot to my ego I guess. I feel like I been improve sense February when I started this whole thing and to hear that I am still at Zero per say kind of sucks! BUT I am going on Saturday and hopefully this instructor can help me out and give me some good pointers. It just is blah to hear ya know? AND I don't want to stop going on Thursdays because it really works out well for me!

Anyway once I got back from work and before Jon's softball game I went for a 2 mile run! It was a pretty much straight back and forth but it was muggy as hell!!!

Notice how red I am....

I ran 2.28 miles in 23:40 minutes.(Average 10:22 pace per mile)

Mile 1: 10:01 mins/mile (almost under 10 minutes getting there!!)
Mile 2: 10:41 mins/mile (had to wait for a red light, pandora stopped working and Run Keeper turned off, and the humidity got to me like woah! Bad 2nd mile.
Mile 3: 10:27 mins/mile

Happy Friday!

BTW Starbucks offers all there coffees in ice now... I highly recommend the espresso roast for dark coffee lovers!

Have Your Donuts... and Eat Them Too!

I cant believe its only Wednesday! I hope this hump day goes by fast.... I just want it to be weekend!

Anyway yesterday morning was a mess. My lovely boyfriend decided to bail out on my early morning run in the morning so I had to quickly pack a gym bag... when you have to quickly pack a gym bag its never a good thing. If I know I am going to the gym before work, I pack the night before... its goes a a lot more smoothly! I forgot flip flops for the shower, a bra, and a new pair of underwear. I remembered the flip flops on the treadmill but was like whatever just suck it up and go barefoot (gross I know) but I remembered I forgot the Bra and Underwear in the shower... EPIC fail. I had to drive back to my apartment then to work... ug.

Whats one thing you forget to bring to the gym? Underwear was the first for me!

The workout was good. I did 36.20 minutes and 3.29 miles. I hate when I end in an odd number, I was doing the math in my head and thought I was going stop at 3.30 but it did not get there! :

Pace including warm up and cool down was 11:01 on the treadmill. I was switching between 10:00 minute miles and 9.50 minute miles... improving!

This morning I made the boyfriend get up with me!

I am getting kind of bored with our root... we were going to try to get so we could drive to run around the Charles... but it was just not going to happen.

This morning I did 3.24 miles in 37:49 minutes.
Mile 1: 12: 46 (includes warm up)
Mile 2: 11:26 (just running)
Mile 3: 10:15 (just running)
Mile 4: 14:08 (cool down)

Yesterday I also picked up a new cookbook! I love cookbooks that are filled with healthy recipes... and this one my friends is. Its from Prevention RD and her recipes are just so good. They are like hearty recipes that are made with stuff good for you (i.e not using mayo and using healthy replacements!) Buy her Book Here. Something about Cookbooks and cooking just make me happy... like when you create a dish everyone loves it feels good!

Healthy recipe for DONUTS? Yum yes please. With this book you can have your Donuts and Eat them too! :)

Do you have a favorite Healthy Cookbook?

Morning Run & Cravings

Yesterday morning was NOT easy to get up. Could be because on Sundays Jon and I stay up to watch Bar Rescue and Breaking Amish.... who ever said 10:00 is prime time TV was not getting up at 5:30AM to run. BUT those shows are totally worth it the tiredness feeling

I was slower today, but I also got my fastest mile! I did 3.26 miles in 38.00 minutes.
Mile 1: 13:09 min/mile (includes warm up)
Mile 2: 10:57 min/mile
Mile 3: 9:57 min/mile
Mile 4: 15:16 min/mile (cool down)

Although I treated myself after... I been craving a chocolate frosted donuts for the longest time. SO I gave in and got one. I must say I think the craving wont come back for awhile.....

What "not goo for you" cravings do you have?

Thursday Night's

Thursday nights during the summer are one of my favorite (but shh don't ever tell my boyfriend that). He is on a "modified speed pitch" softball team (aka fast pitch without being able to do the windmill). I don't know why but I love going to his games, and then getting a few drinks after with him, the team, and girlfriends/wifes who join!)  I normally keep the book but I did not last night..

Before I started working out in the morning because of this Thursdays would become an off day along with Friday, and I didn't like where this was going! Just because Jon is playing softball doesn't mean I should stop working out... so I changed it up yesterday and it felt good!

I finally got up for a body sculpt class at my gym and WOW am I hurting today!! Per Hal Higdon training programs I been following Thursday is suppose to be Strength and a short run. Well by 7:00AM I had the strength checked off... but I still needed to run.

So I did 2 miles around Jons softball field and watched him play when I ran! It felt quite good, because I so I was going to bail, but I did it!

The 2 miles took me 21 minutes and 4 seconds. Mile 1 took me 10:19 and Mile 2 took me 10:15.

My shoes are still gross from Color Me Rad! I was kind of hoping the rain would keep up so they would get a little wet and maybe some of the color would come out!

GO Swingers! (Yes Swingers is their softball team name. This is one of the very first things Jon told me when I first met him.... BUT its a good thing its based on the movie and not that they take to many swings or they are swingers in their free time ;) )

But they lost...

This is the owner of the leagues dog... he is adorable! He is such a park dog.
